Tu Youyou chromatography resource. This activity uses alcohol to extract pigments in spinach and separate them using chromatography. It follows a similar process that Tu Youyou used to extract the anti-malaria drug artemisinin, which has been used to treat millions of people around the world.
Smelly molecules resource. This activity looks at the shape of molecules, how they might smell, and how isomers of the same formula might smell completely different.
