Family STEM night

On Wednesday April 25th a gang of 4 enthusiastic ScienceGrrl Glasgow volunteers made their way to Oakgrove Primary School in Glasgow to participate in their annual family STEM night where primary school pupils and their parents get to roam the rooms, halls and corridors and sample STEM talks, workshops and activities. The night is organised by young STEM ambassadors among the pupils with the help of their teachers and we had an absolute blast during the busy two hours. We estimate 50 parents and pupils visited our stall and participated in our activity and we had some great feedback. Huge thanks to volunteers Claire, Bhoomi & Rhona for giving up their time!

Our #UnsungHeroines activity about female researcher and Nobel prize winner Tu YouYou’s discovery of antimalarial drug artemisinin happened to be extra topical for World Malaria Day!
